JUNE 11–Deadline To Be Part of Region's Largest Western-themed Expo

Released May 26, 2021

Lincoln, NE — Lancaster Event Center Fairgrounds (LEC) is preparing to host the National High School Finals Rodeo from July 18-24. This event includes the largest number of contestants of any rodeo worldwide. It will bring together 1,700 high school rodeo athletes to compete in this championship. LEC Fairgrounds’ $350K national marketing campaign, funded by a Nebraska Tourism grant, has encouraged visitors, nationally and locally, to attend the NHSFR in July.

Outdoor Event

NHSFR Lincoln is anticipating a much closer to “normal” experience for this July’s largely “outdoor air” event. LEC is working with the rodeo association and health department on final health guidelines for this 10-day event. Eleven of the 13 rodeo events e.g., bull riding and team roping will be conducted in arenas outside with two of the 13 events (cutting and reined cow horse) in open air indoor arenas.

Trade Show Visitors

In addition to exciting rodeo action all week, the region’s largest Western-themed trade show will be free and open to the public in two large air-conditioned buildings over seven days. People from across the country and internationally will be coming to Lincoln for the event. Many of them are interested in local shopping and services unique to Lincoln. As a result, trade show visitors will increase daily traffic to over 900 local restaurants.

Businesses and restaurants that support NHRSA with a program ad or other sponsorship will be publicized to visitors. Vendor priority acceptance deadline has passed, but there are a few spots left.
