ENTRY AND PARKING FOR THE FIRST NHSFR CONTESTANT CHECK-IN
When: July 15, 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. (Check-in officially starts at noon)
Where: Lancaster Event Center, 4100 N 84th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska 68507
Entry: Enter Gate 1 off of 84th Street. (Havelock entry will be busy during check-in.)
Parking: Park in Lot J and walk across Gate 2 driveway to Lot AZ and go to tent on east side of Lot AZ. SEE MAP
It is a tradition at the National High School Finals Rodeo for contestants to race to be the first to officially check in. When the first contestants get checked in, they then receive the number one contestant number, which they will wear all week as a badge of honor. This is particularly coveted by competitors in the Rodeo Queen contest.
This also marks an important step after years of planning and preparation by the Lancaster Event Center Fairgrounds, the Lancaster Agricultural Society, Lancaster County Board, City of Lincoln, Nebraska Department of Tourism and National High School Rodeo Association to have the first of 1,623 rodeo contestants on grounds.
There will be a short ceremony acknowledging this occurrence with members of the Lancaster County Agricultural Society, Lancaster County Board, Lancaster Event Center Fairgrounds and National High School Rodeo Association available for photos and comments.
